Hundreds came out to Hannibal-LaGrange University on Saturday to celebrate the bicentennial with the hot air balloon festival.

People of all ages came to take advantage of the nice weather.

The event had food trucks, a raffle, and even rides.

One woman said she enjoyed seeing something different.

“It’s kind of something neat, and it’s just not something you see every day, when they start glowing they’re super pretty, and it’s fun,” said festival-goer Sadie Luckey.

It wasn’t all fun and games. The event also had a hot air balloon crash. Viewer cell phone video captured those moments when a pilot crashed into a crowd injuring a couple of people.

Witnesses said no one was seriously injured and they treated at the event.

The pilot apologized afterwards.
