Tropical Pink Flamingo Baby Shower Details:
This is what Emma shared about styling the party- “As I am sure you might have gathered, I am a notorious planner. I like to know things well in advance, and be prepared for everything. So it came as quite a shock to everyone that I didn’t want to find out the sex of our baby. The other surprise that came to everyone was that I wanted a full blown pink baby sprinkle despite not knowing the sex of the baby. I love tropical-inspired parties, the colour pink and love flamingos! The theme was set to welcome baby three.
I love to celebrate life! And I love gathering my girlfriends for some champagne, cake and a giggle. My friend Felicity offered to host the party in her beautiful home, and along with my friend Brooke created such a wonderful celebration that will be etched in my memory forever.
I like to use my imagination and put extra effort into decorating a table. On this occasion, I chose a palette of three different colours, pink, coral and yellow as inspired by my favourite colours. And presented my favourite flowers in glass vases down the centre of the table, aswell as some tropical plants in gold pots. Pink flamingos stood tall on either side of the florals. The glittered pink flamingo glasses were a hit with all the party guests!
In addition to my love of gathering my girlfriends to celebrate, is champagne! I love champagne, of any variety, and I thought creating a mimosa bar would create another fun element to the celebration. On this occasion I served non-alcoholic champagne aswell, so I didn’t miss out – considering baby three was on the way!
I was so thrilled that Brie from Briezee Boutique could create some stylish event stationery for the celebration. A striking sign for our very own little lemonade stand, aswell as labels for the fruit juice, fruit aswell as bottle labels for the table, food labels, favor tags and mini signs capturing fun summery flamingo quotes.
There is nothing more important to us than long lasting memories from any my little party event. Felicity from Styled by Felicity is an incredibly talented stylist and photographer who not only captured all the important details of this fun celebration, but also took on my vision of a tropical, summery feel, featuring the bird of the hour with loads of pink and delivered such a fun balloon installation aswell as gorgeous tropical florals.
Lisa from Etched created the hello baby signage especially for the event. I’m sure you would agree it worked perfectly. It was welcoming, set the tone of the event and bought everything together seamlessly.
A baby shower isn’t a party without games right? We created one easy game, where the guests could all have a guess of the weight of the baby, aswell as when baby three would arrive. Guessing the name was so helpful to me, as it provided loads of suggested names that I hadn’t even thought of. Feel free to join in the game now. I promise to fill you in on all the details.
Interested in further details of the celebration? Like um, lets say the catering? Of course you do!
Delicious food lovingly created by my husband is easily a highlight in our life! On this occasion Tony included a lot of my summer favourites and featured my favourite colour pink within the menu:
a selection of macaroons
beetroot dip, crudities and cheese
chicken & herb finger sandwiches
ham & pineapple tarts
pineapple iced doughnuts
pink caramel fudge,
pink flamingo cookies, and
pink flamingo cupcakes
I had the great pleasure of teaming up with Lisa from Cakes to Celebrate by Lisa who created this show stopper of a cake! My request of lemon meringue flavour did not throw Lisa in the slightest…she took on the challenge and succeeded. Layers of citrus mud cake met with layers of lemon curd and marshmallow to make the most amazing cake I’ve ever tasted. It was divine! Aren’t the flamingo cupcakes the cutest cupcakes you have ever seen?
I was eager to show my gratitude to my friends for coming to celebrate with me. I really enjoy creating little gifts. On this occasion we created pink flamingo cookies wrapped in cellophane topped with a cute favor tag saying: thank you for flamingling with me.
So there you have it, my fabulous baby sprinkle featuring the bird of the hour! If you want to give your favourite fabulous little flamingo a tropical-inspired party they will get to flash their pink feathers about why not create one just like this one for your next little party!
I couldn’t possibly sign off without sharing the fabulous news! Baby three arrived on the 14th August. Big brothers Jack and Matthew along with Tony and I are absolutely smitten with baby Jessica.”
