Art comes from 42 countries, 27 states
HOUSTON, Minn. (WKBT) – Kids art from around the world is set to be part of an international festival coming to our area.
Art from 42 countries and 27 U.S state is part of the contest.
Judges reviewed the entries Wednesday, ahead of this year’s International Festival of Owls in Houston, Minnesota.
The contest has drawn interest from educators around the globe.
Some pieces from last year’s contest will be displayed at the Museum of Russian Art in Minneapolis starting March 7th.
Organizers hope the art will help spark interest in kids to help owls.
“These kids are going to grow up to be our future conservationist and we get so many letters from schools, saying we were doing your concert and we ended up learning about owls and we didn’t even know there were owls in our town. So it’s really a wonderful way to get people engaged,” said Sue Fletcher with the International Owl Center.
The art will be on display at the International Festival of Owls March 6th through the 8th, as well as a thte International Owl Center.
More information is available on the festival’s website.
