(RALEIGH COUNTY) Earlier today downtown Beckley held it’s first ever beer festival. The event took place at the Beckley Intermodeal Gateway.

“Just a good hot day for beer, I couldn’t miss Beckley’s first beer festival,” Tressie Johnson said.

The festival will help benefit the West Virginia Arts Collective, a non-profit aimed at encouraging music and arts in Beckley.

“This is our first year, and I think we can all say it was pretty much a success. We’ve had a lot of good people here who’ve tried over 60 different kinds of craft beers from over two dozen brewers, a lot of them from the mountain state, and even Beckley,” Collective member, Jamie Smith said.

You have bitter beers, sweet beers, and in between’s so what does it take to enjoy the best beer?

“I think what’s important that people are presented with a variety, so they can pick and choose and have high quality options and enjoy themselves,” Co-founder of West Virginia Collective, Adam Taylor said.
