NORTHALLERTON is set to host a first of its kind arts festival this summer and the creative community is being invited to get involved.
The Artists’ Way is arranging for local artists to showcase their work in shops along the High Street for the festival on June 21.
Many of the High Street shops, including the major names, are backing the festival and have agreed to give display space over for arts and crafts.
And the organisers are planning for a wide variety of creative work from paintings and photography to pottery and ceramics, and more unusual items from felt artists, silversmiths, fabric artists, printers and jewellery-makers.
One of the festival organisers, Bill Oakey, said: “There is a wide base of very high quality creative talent in the region but very few artistic outlets in Northallerton. The Artists’ Way is intended to be fun for all.”
