If you spent any time on social media or browsing conservative media on Tuesday, it would have been hard to miss the new, bombshell report from Project Veritas. In fact, RedState’s own Mike Miller wrote two pieces about James O’Keefe’s investigative journalism group dropping its latest expose of election interference by tech or media companies, this time focusing on CNN.
The first piece, which you can find linked above, includes a video of O’Keefe “sitting in” on a Zoom call moderated by CNN President Jeff Zucker. And the second piece shared more recordings of the CNN morning video calls, and a threatening tweet from CNN to O’Keefe about his actions possibly rising to a felony. (chortle)
It’s obvious that what Project Veritas has brought out into public view has left the brain trust at Zucker’s cable network in a tizzy, so it’s no surprise that they’re on a hair trigger for any further, perceived slights against CNN or its executives from conservative news outlets.
During Monday night’s episode of Fox News’ top primetime show, Tucker Carlson Tonight, as my colleague Bonchie reported Tuesday afternoon, the host torched some of the people who consider themselves our betters, in this case, elitists like Democrat House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and White House Coronavirus Taskforce member Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Continuing in this vein in Tuesday’s monologue, Tucker stayed over the target of class-obsessed elitism, this time taking to task the Left’s enduring obsession with identity politics and “diversity,” specifically within academia, media, and government circles.
After the show ended, CNN’s PR department, partly responding to a tweet by Project Veritas with a video which purported to contain an audio recording of “@CNN Vice President of Global Programming @MarcusMabry [slamming] @FoxNews [and] @TuckerCarlson as Racist,” demanded that both Project Veritas’ O’Keefe and Tucker issue corrections and apologize for misidentifying CNN General Counsel David Vigilante as Mabrey.
CNN Communications wrote:
James & Tucker, the voice you ID’d tonight as “Marcus Mabry” is actually GA resident & CNN General Counsel David Vigilante. We’re certain you’ll want to correct the record and apologize to the Black executive for assuming he was the voice raising concerns over white supremacy.

In response, under what I assume is a somewhat tongue-in-cheek department title, the show’s Twitter account wrote:
From Tucker Carlson Tonight PR: This is a lie. We never ID’d any voice or aired audio recordings of CNN executives. Check out tonight’s segment which is of Marcus Mabry on camera. Facts First, right?
So, who got the facts right here? I reckon you have a guess.
In its attempts to not suffer more public indignities, CNN ended up beclowning itself here. And it turns out that Tucker’s sin, to use his terminology for crossing the leftist’s imaginary line into wrongthink, was citing a CNN executive as an example of elistists on the Left advocating not for minorities or the other interest groups they claim to speak for, but for elites “just like themselves.” As he put it Tuesday, “How many people lecturing you about diversity comes from exactly the same elite background?”
He continues:
“We could give you a thousand examples, but we’ll just pick one: take Marcus Mabrey. He runs global digital programming at CNN….he’s now one of CNN’s most energetic diversity enforcers.”

The biggest irony of all? I watched the full episode. Tucker didn’t play one second of the Project Veritas recordings; he didn’t mention O’Keefe’s report once. But, knowing him, what do you wanna bet he will after this unjustified attack of the hacks at CNN?
