Comedian Says Secret Service Investigated Him Over ‘Joke’ He Told on ‘SNL’; Apparently They Don’t Find Jokes About Killing Presidents Funny

During an appearance on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” on Tuesday, comedian John Mulaney told the jackass Kimmel that a joke he told on “Saturday Night Live” when he returned to host the show on February 29 — leap day; it matters, stay with me — led to the Secret Service opening a file on him and investigating his comments.

As reported by Variety, Mulaney explained to moronic Kimmel what happened.

“In February, I did a joke that was not about Donald Trump. The joke was about how it was a leap year and leap year was started by Julius Cesar to correct the calendar. And another thing that happened with Caesar was that he was stabbed to death by a bunch of senators because he went crazy. And I said I think that’s an interesting thing that could happen.”

Just one problem. Mulaney “fibbed” to Kimmel. Here’s how the “joke” actually went:

“Leap year began in the year 45 B.C. under Julius Caesar — this is true. He started the leap year in order to correct the calendar, and we still do it to this day.

“Another thing that happened under Julius Caesar was he was such a powerful maniac that all the senators grabbed knives, and they stabbed him to death.

That would be an interesting thing if we brought that back now.”

Oops. So was the joke about Trump? Of course, the joke was about Trump. At least you’d think the Hollywood loon would own it. Wait — of course, not. He went belly-up as soon as crap got serious; they all do.

Mulaney told Kimmel the Secret Service was “very nice and understanding.”

“The person vetting me was very understanding that the joke had nothing to do with Donald Trump because it was an elliptical reference to him. I didn’t say anything about him. In terms of risk assessment, no one who’s ever looked at me thought I registered above a one.”

“Elliptical reference” to Trump? Own it, man. Fess up. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

Mulaney added:

“They were very nice in the interview. In terms of risk assessment, no one who’s ever looked at me has thought I registered above a one. I said I have been making jokes about him since 2007, so I have been making fun of him for 13 years. They said, OK, if it’s a joke, then I am cleared by the Secret Service.”

A “one”? Or maybe a zero — at least in terms of honesty and integrity.

Imagine for a nanosecond what would have happened if a conservative comedian had made the same joke about Chicago Jesus Barack Obama during his presidency. What would the reaction have been from Jimmy Kimmel, The Most Trusted Name in News™, PMSNBC, The geniuses of “The View,” and the rest of the left-wing Trump-haters?

Rhetorical question, of course; we know exactly what would’ve happened.

If you’re so inclined, here ya go.
