SIOUX CENTER—Dordt University will host its biennial orchestra festival featuring more than 75 string players at 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, in B.J. Haan Auditorium in Sioux Center.
The festival features Unity Christian High School and Western Christian High School, conducted by Amie Smit, along with the Dordt Chamber Orchestra. Each orchestra will perform an individual selection.
Groups then will combine to perform “Anger’s Creaking Tree” and Leyden’s “Serenade for String Orchestra,” conducted by Susan De Jong, director of Dordt’s Chamber Orchestra, and Telemann’s “Allegro” (From “Sonata No. 1”), guest conducted by Onsby Rose.
