The Fairgrounds Festival of Lights, held at the Erie County Fairgrounds in Hamburg, will kick off its 15th season at 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 29.
The event, billed as Western New York’s largest holiday festival, will feature more than one million holiday lights and a packed slate of activities this year, including live music, crafts, kiddie rides, a historic snowfall exhibit and other games and activities for children. Magicians and singers will perform on Friday and Saturday nights; live reindeer from Antler Ridge Farms of Hamburg will also make Sunday appearances. Friday’s opening night events will include a 6:05 p.m. tree-lighting ceremony, with fireworks and a performance by Mel’s School of Music and Theater.
The festival is open from 5 to 9 p.m. on select nights between Nov. 29 and Dec. 23; a full schedule and ticket information are available at FairgroundsHoliday.com. The Erie County Agricultural Society sponsors the festival.
