The Vacaville Festival of Trees executive committee would like to thank and acknowledge the residents and businesses in Solano County for their generosity during the 30th annual fundraiser for Opportunity House.
Even though this year’s event was mostly virtual, we were able to raise at least $50,000 for our city’s homeless shelter.
We thank all who donated and decorated Christmas trees, the businesses and offices around town that displayed them, residents who helped us break in the new online bidding system and those who ultimately purchased trees. We are also grateful to the businesses and individuals who generously supported the annual prize drawing.
We especially want to thank this year’s sponsors: Kaiser Permanente, Katherine Ramos and Ann Macauley, Travis Credit Union, Clifford and Linda Neal, Suihkonen CPA, and Christopher and Terry Ronco. We couldn’t do this without them.
One final aspect of this year’s festival continues through the end of December: The Festival of “Treats” bake sale, prepared by Opportunity House’s Cookies for a Cause. To place orders for ready-to-eat festival favorites or tubs of ready-to-bake cookie dough, visit https://bit.ly/FestivalofTreets2020.
And, of course, Opportunity House always appreciates direct donations, since it relies on the community for its support. Every dollar goes toward providing homeless families with a place to live and services to support them as they put their lives on track.
We are already looking forward to next year’s festival, which we hope will be able to return to a more familiar format. We look forward to seeing everyone there!
