Forest of festive trees set to sparkle at Stroud’s Christmas tree festival

A FOREST of festive trees will be sparkling inside St Laurence Church, Stroud at the 15th annual Christmas Tree Festival.

The week-long event runs from this Sunday (December 1) until Sunday, December 8.

BBC Radio Gloucestershire presenter Jon Smith will be the special guest at the switch-on event this Sunday, when the lights of trees decorated by organisations, businesses, groups and individuals from across the Five Valleys will be turned on at 4pm. There will also be live music from Baily’s Beads.

The festival then continues from Monday, December 2 to Thursday, December 5, from 10am to 4.30pm, and will coincide with Stroud Goodwill on Friday, December 6 when visitors are welcome from 9.30am to 8.30pm.

It will be open on Saturday from 9.30am to 5pm and Sunday from 1pm to 4pm.

It concludes with a Festival Songs of Praise at 4pm on Sunday.

Tickets for this event are £3 each. Children under 12 are free if accompanied by an adult.
