Photo: thestringdusters.comThe Paradise music festival began as a camper-friendly event in Central Kentucky in 2014, before moving to Greater Cincinnati in more recent years, with fests at Sawyer Point on the riverfront (in 2017) and at Wooden Cask Brewery (last year).
The common thread through each year of the Paradise fest has been the many up-and-coming and top-tier acts from the national Jam Band circuit; over the years the event has hosted artists like Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, The Werks, Ekoostik Hookah and BoomBox, as well as many local bands.
That booking vision — courtesy of fest founders/organizers Essential Productions — is intact again for this year’s Paradise Music and Beer Festival, which takes place Friday and Saturday (July 12 and 13). For the 2019 event, Paradise takes over Seventh Street in Covington, between Madison Avenue and Washington Street in front of Braxton Brewing Co., co-presenters of the fest this year. Music begins at 5 p.m. on Friday and at noon on Saturday.
As it has been for the past couple of years, the Paradise Music & Beer Festival is totally free (there are V.I.P. opportunities for those interested in an upgrade).
Top-of-the-poster headliners for Paradise 2019 are Keller Williams (playing Friday) and The Infamous Stringdusters (Saturday). The local acts participating this year are SolEcho (who open things up at noon on Saturday), Strange Mechanics (who play the official late-night after-party at Madison Live at midnight on Friday) and Peridoni, who’ll close out the fun at midnight on Saturday at Madison Live.
There will also be a variety of food and arts vendors on hand and, of course, Braxton will have all of your beer needs covered.
