Kaepernick’s Workout May Have Yielded a Tryout, Just Not For Him

About two weeks ago, the NFL offered to have a workout for Colin Kaepernick, to have him viewed by the 32 teams to see if any of them wanted to give him a tryout.

Kaernick threw a tantrum claiming a problem with the waiver to be signed and his camera crew being allowed. So just before the workout was to occur, he pulled out of it and switched locations to a high school in Atlanta. Seven teams reportedly viewed his workout that had him tossing to receivers.

At the end of the workout he made a statement that sounded more like posturing than about trying his best to get a job, saying he was “ready” but the NFL was “running” from him.

He seemed to reinforce that on November 26 when he released a video of the session where again he reiterated that same message.

If you check out the video, the receivers actually look pretty good on the video.

Others may have thought so too.

According to broadcaster and NFL reporter Howard Balzer, one of those players who Kaepernick threw to, Jordan Veasy, was part of a group of players the Browns brought in for a tryout on Monday.

According to Heavy:

Veasy played his college football at California but has yet to find a long-term NFL home. He’s had stops on the practice squads of the Titans, Jaguars, Colts and most recently the Bills. He was released in October from Buffalo.

In two seasons with the Golden Bears, Veasy had 63 catches for 797 yards and nine touchdowns.

In the meantime, however, not one team has expressed an interest in Kaepernick, as we reported on Tuesday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:

The fact that the NFL tried to spark interest in Kaepernick last week, and could not, and that his reps made sure that video of the workout was delivered to every team, are just the latest signs that the chances are bleak that a team will step forward and sign him.
