Guernsey’s medieval festival has returned to the island at Castle Cornet.

The Fete d’Etai summer medieval festival has included a performance from musician and storyteller Richard York.

He last performed at the event back in 2015. Known for telling medieval tales while playing a variety of instruments to enhance his stories, he has performed with his harp and bagpipes today.

The role play group Tol Galen were also there battling over sword fights and showing off other weapons and armour from the time.

Visitors to the castle have also had the chance to make their own model catapult, known as a mangonel, as well as other arts and crafts from the period.

Jersey Medieval reenactors from Duke’s Leopards were on the island too, to set up medieval food tables and share ingredients and recipes from the time.
