Are you ready for a private tour through Cambodia and Vietnam? The Naples Winter Wine Festival announced its first round of 2020 auction lots Tuesday.
The 2020 festival takes place Jan. 24 through 26 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, and to celebrate the festival’s 20th anniversary, it’s bringing out auction items that are bigger and better than ever.
The 2019 festival raised $15.8 million for the Naples Children & Education Foundation, which provides strategic annual grants and initiatives to benefit underprivileged and at-risk children in Collier County. Since the festival began in 2001, it has raised $191 million.
The nine big-ticket auction items announced Tuesday include luxury trips, cruises, wine tastings and more.
Two couples will win the chance to play tennis with a pro in London and then attend the the 2020 Wimbledon Championships and the 2020 British Open. One couple and four guests will journey to Bordeaux for a luxury wine tasting and dinner at the private home of the Rothschild family at Château Lafite.
Is that not enough for you? Don’t worry, there’s more.
One couple and two guests will travel to Italy where they will enjoy gourmet dining, a helicopter tour, a private wine tasting at Ferrari Trento Winery, two tailor-made suits by Zegna and two pairs of luxury women’s shoes designed by René Caovilla.
Four couples will win a one-week private yacht cruise in either the Western Mediterranean Sea or the Caribbean. Two more couples have the chance to take an 11-night luxury tour of Cambodia and Vietnam.
One winner will receive a five-day retreat to Trout Lake in northern Wisconsin, where they and 12 to 14 of their family and friends will enjoy a private retreat with bike trails, golfing, a private chef, sunset cruises and water activities.
One winner will become the owner of one of the first Bentley Flying Spur in the U.S. and take a tour of Bentley Motors in Crewe, England.
And who could resist the European tour? It spans six cities and includes luxury accommodations and travel arrangements — travelers can choose if they’d like to travel by donkey to some historic sites. Another bidder will win a “TIMELESS” wine tasting experience in Napa and Bordeux.
“This year’s auction lot packages are inspired by the Naples Winter Wine Festival’s 20-year history of providing truly once in a lifetime experiences — experiences that can’t and won’t be offered anywhere else. While building out the 2020 auction lot packages, we looked at the impressive work of past co-chairs and drew inspiration from some of their most out-of-the-box ideas,” Peter Welsh, 2020 Naples Winter Wine Festival co-chairman, said.
“As we look to celebrate our 20th anniversary in January, we’re also excited to welcome the next generation of NWWF attendees in order to continue and strengthen the festival’s legacy for years to come.”
Ticket packages to the Naples Winter Wine Festival start at $12,500 per couple and range to a $30,000 package that includes access to reserved seating for four at a vintner dinner under the auction tent.
The 2020 festival recently announced its headlining vintner will be Saskia de Rothschild, whose family wine company, Bloomberg, is called “one of Bordeaux’s great wine empires.” Sarah Grueneberg, head chef and owner of Monteverde Restaurant and Pastificio in Chicago, will serve as chef de cuisine.
