BELLEVIEW, Fla. (WCJB)- Residents of Marion County are sure to be buzzing this weekend in celebration of National Honey Bee Day.

The Queen of America Beekeeping Club in Belleview is hosting a Honeybee Festival Saturday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

The festival will feature food vendors, crafts, cosmetics, and of course, plenty of local raw honey.

The event will also feature speakers from the UF Honey Bee Lab as well as the American Honey Princess on the importance of honeybees.

“One way that people can get involved is by planting pollinator-friendly gardens. Providing a diverse food source for our honey bees is extremely important,” American Honey Princess 2019 Nicole Medina said.

The festival is free and open to the public.
It is taking place at the Queen of America Beekeeping Club on County Highway 484.
