ANN ARBOR, MI – A little rain didn’t stop people from filling up Gallup Park on Sunday for the annual Huron River Day Festival.
Free paddle boarding lessons, $5 canoe and kayak rentals, live music, fishing, and a butterfly tent were among activities at the 39th annual festival.
“This is a chance for people to get out and enjoy the river that may not otherwise be able to do it” said Cheryl Saam, a recreational supervisor for the city.
Attendees also had a chance to learn more about the Huron River and how to protect it through river exhibits at the festival.
“People should enjoy nature and have that experience with their friends and family and then hopefully love the river and protect it” said Saam.
