Navratri is a nine-day long Hindu festival celebrated with much fervour every year in the autumn. While the festival is celebrated for different reasons in different parts of India but the main theme remains the same- the victory of good over evil. The nine-days of this auspicious festival are solely dedicated to Goddess Durga and her nine avatars.
In the pre-COVID times, Navratri celebrations included folk songs, dramas, fairs, dancing and music programmes among other events. People used to perform puja with others at their nearest Puja pandals. However, ever since the coronavirus has hit the world, festivals have become a low-key affair. Though unlike other years, this year will not have Garba nights and massive pandals, people are still finding new ways to celebrate the holy festival. Devotees are celebrating these nine-days with great fervour and enthusiasm. Today, let’s take a look at how Navaratri celebrations look like in the COVID era.
