Residents of brighterkind’s Houndswood House care home in Radlett, Hertfordshire received homemade heart-warming cards from students of St John’s School. The students wrote lovely messages explaining what Harvest Festival meant to them.
Houndswood House organised an exciting three-day Harvest Festival celebration. This included an in-house fete with lots of games, a feast with traditional harvest dishes including fidget pie, honey baked gammon and pear tarts and a virtual church service. Christ Church and St John’s held a service via video call, which was also watched by students of Queens School.
During the lead up to the festival, the residents created eight harvest baskets filled with a variety of food included canned goods. The baskets were donated to Borehamwood Food Bank.
Magic Moments Club Co-ordinator, Simon said: “I would like to wish everyone a happy harvest and a prosperous year with growth and happiness.
Thank you to the residents, schools and team members who made this a wonderful celebration.”
Resident, Joan Swan said: “We all had a wonderful time, thanks to everyone involved.”
