It’s a case of too little, too late for organisers of Rhythm and Vines when it comes to drug testing.
The Government passed legislation earlier this month allowing people to test what’s in their pills at a festival, without being prosecuted.
But it won’t be in place at Rhythm and Vines this year.
Event director Hamish Pinkham told Tim Dower they want to get the systems right as it will become an important part of the events ecosystem.
He says this year they’re working closely with authorities, and people who are feeling unwell should communicate with health authorities on site.
“In terms of the general testing, that’s something we’re going to be implementing in 2021, and we’re looking forward to being part of that conversation.”
