“Festival of the Seas” at Loveland Living Planet Aquarium in Draper, Utah opened Friday, promising “a new world of outdoor wonder” for Utahns to enjoy.
Admission is half-price on Sunday through Friday. Light displays include a Gingerbread Shopping Village and a seaside Santa Claus.
During the day, indoor light shows are on display and guests can search for the “Elf in the Kelp” in animal habitats around the aquarium.
Money from the Create in Utah grant will be used to hire local performers for the festival. Scenes from “The Nutcracker” will be performed by Ballet West on select nights as well. The Gingerbread Shopping Village will also feature goods from local artisans, aquarium staff noted in a news release announcing the festival.
Daytime hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and the nightly Festival of the Seas event goes from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. It won’t be open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
More information about ticket prices and hours is posted on the aquarium’s website.
