The Shepherd Maple Syrup Festival is expected to be back for the 2021 spring season.
Last year, the festival was cancelled due to concerns with the current COVID-19 pandemic.
On Wednesday, Jan. 20 the committee met to discuss whether the festival would either be canceled again or continue.
“At this point we have agreed that we should have the festival again this year, and that it would be around the same time at the end of April,” Public Relations Chair, Jon Morgan said. “There is still some discussion, however, about which events should be held as a part of the festival, as there is usually a large variety held either indoors or outdoors.”
Some of the events featured at previous festivals includes a craft shows, entertainment, tractor pull, classic car displays, parades, and amusement rides among other activities.
“We are also planning on meeting again the first week of February to make a final decision about the festival schedule,” Morgan said.
