Japan’s Music Lane Festival Okinawa has announced the addition of multiple East and Southeast Asian acts to its line-up, including Shye, She’s Only Sixteen, Syd Hartha, lightcraft and more.

The 33 up-and-coming acts from across the region will perform virtually through pre-recorded sets, while acts from Japan will perform live – making the January event a hybrid online-offline festival.

The new additions hail from the countries Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand Mongolia and South Korea. Representing Singapore will be Shye, YAØ, Shirly Temple, Woes, Shak’thiya and HubbaBubbas, while Malaysia’s performers include Skits, Golden Mammoth, Jemson, Court 10, FAZZ, Capt Trips n The Kid, and The Filters.

Philippines acts She’s Only Sixteen, Syd Hartha and KRNA will perform, while YONLAPA, H3F and My Life As Ali Thomas represent Thailand. Indonesian talent performing at the festival include lightcraft, Tanayu, Prince Hussein, Pretty Rico, Bedchamber, Jeslla, and Iris Bevy.

Representing South Korea are Cotoba, No.1 Korean, and The Sound. Mongolia’s Mohanik, The Colors, Nisvanis, and Magnolian wrap up the line-up.

The aforementioned acts will perform as part of the Trans Asia Music Meeting (TAMM) Selection showcase at the festival, and will join an extensive lineup of Japanese acts like RIKUO, Keizo Mikata, Funnynoise and THE BASSONS. Check out the complete lineup here.

The upcoming Music Lane Festival Okinawa will take place on January 16 and 17. It will be held simultaneously in two cities across Japan – Naha and Okinawa – due to audience limitations set to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

Each venue’s capacity will be cut by 50 percent, and is subject to change. The event’s guidelines include the compulsory use of face masks, and temperature taking before entering the venue. Tickets to the festival will gain attendees access to both in-person and virtual performances.
