Pennsylvania State Senator Doug Mastriano organized and chaired an election integrity hearing in Gettysburg on Wednesday that had explosive testimony from witnesses who alleged fraud and other significant irregularities, as we reported here and here. He had the Senate Majority Policy Committee vetting the claims.

President Donald Trump even called into the hearing and thanked people for coming forward and pursuing the matter.

But it was quite clear that the witnesses had a great effect on the state senators who were present, particularly Mastriano, who blasted the irregularities. Mastriano is a retired Army Colonel and military historian with a Ph.D. who represents Pennsylvania’s 33rd District. He compared the election to that in Afghanistan, and decried that we can make sure they have a secure election there but that we can’t in parts of Pennsylvania.

From National File:

“We move heaven and earth with American dollars to secure elections in Iraq and Afghanistan and elsewhere. We can’t do it in our own state?” Mastriano said. “There’s people in Pennsylvania not interested in safe, secure elections.”

He said first we need to make sure we send forth the real winner of the election and number two, we need to fix it so it never happens again. “Democracy can die in darkness, in dark rooms, with no transparency or accountability,” Mastriano warned. “We’re shining light on this darkness here… It sure sounds like something stinks in Denmark or Philadelphia, I don’t know.”

So it remains to be seen how the senators will act but they certainly seem to have gotten the message from both the witnesses and the audience that there were big issues.

But looks like Mastriano might be suffering some consequences for his actions.

It appears that his personal account, cached here, has been suspended on Twitter, according to National File.

He retweeted this post about the hearing before his account went down yesterday.

Surely that’s just a coincidence or an accidental algorithm gone awry, right, Jack?

National File asked Twitter for a response but has not gotten one yet. Mastriano’s Senator account is still up and active, though, at least as of this writing.

Ironically, during the hearing, Rudy Giuliani, the president’s attorney, testified about the censorship from big tech being unprecedented and that they only wanted to let one side be heard.
