Ferropolis was so nice, we decided to go there twice. Last weekend at splash! Festival, we had a grand ol’ time catching up with the likes of Juice Wrld, Saweetie, and MadeinTYO, in addition to taking in a killer lineup at our very own Highsnobiety Soundsystem stage (Slowthai, Jimothy, and Flohio, to name but a few) and mainstage headliners like Skepta, Young Thug, and Future. This weekend, we hit Melt Festival for the second time, and this year was bigger and better, to say the least.
A heavy thunderstorm rolled through the festival grounds on Saturday night mere hours before Stormzy was slated to hit the stage, but luckily thunderstormzy cleared up in a couple of hours, making room for the man of the hour. Before her stunning main stage performance, we had the honor of interviewing Jorja Smith, who spoke about her early days singing “Silent Night” in a nativity play she wrote, touring with Kali Uchis earlier this year, and the biggest lesson she’s learned in 2019 so far. Watch that below. After you dig into the video, check out the gallery above to peruse shots by our very own Julien Tell of Stormzy, Jorja Smith, Slowthai, Nilufer Yanya, Yung Lean, Mahalia, and more.
Stay tuned for a proper recap of our Highsnobiety Soundsystem Stage including performances from Slowthai, Flohio, Jimothy, and many more.
