Recent revelations show that things aren’t looking too good for Hunter Biden. But report released on Thursday shows that it might be looking worse for his father, former Vice President Joe Biden.

Fox News reported that “Hunter Biden’s former business associates were looking to ‘get Joe involved’ in a joint venture with Chinese Energy Company CEFC and make the venture appear as a ‘truly family business’ to the Chinese.”

The news outlets obtained text messages between Hunter Biden and his former business associates James Gilliar and Tony Bobulinski dating back to 2017.  During one of the conversations, they men “discussed a breakdown of the joint venture with CEFC and seemed to suggest bringing the elder Biden in on the deal.

During a May 11, 2017 exchange, Gilliar told Bobulinski, “Man U are right let’s get the company set up, then tell H and family the high stakes and get Joe involved.”

In another conversation, Bobulinski sent a text message to Gilliar on April 30, 2017, asking, “what is the deal w Jim Biden as he wasn’t part of the discussion but now seems a focal point.”

Gilliar replied, bringing up Hunter’s past troubles with drug abuse and implying that his father could lend credibility to the team. “With H demons, could be good to have a back up, he strengthens our USP to Chinese as it looks like a truly family business, and I like the dude,” he wrote.

USP typically stands for “unique selling proposition” or “unique selling point” when it comes to business-related matters.

Days before that exchange, the men had a conversation to set up a conference between their team and high-level CEFC executives scheduled for May 7, 2017. Gilliar asked Bobulinski to create “a lister to meet chairman Sunday.”

“Top person at same level as chairman, who would like to access China or money,” Gilliar responded. “It’s the way it works culturally for them.”

Gilliar added: “And empowers the B family so therefore us.”

The next day, Gillair texted Bobulinski, writing, “Think Joe may come Sunday. I’m hoping.”

Bobulinski replied, “Yah I told Jim that’s a no brainer if he can make it he should be there.”

Fox News noted that a source stated that Joe Biden did not attend the meeting.

The venture that Hunter’s associates were trying to launch with CEFC never took off.

In a different exchange, Gilliar tells Bobulinski: “Don’t mention Joe being involved, it’s only when u are face to face, I know u know that but they are paranoid.”

“OK they should be paranoid about things,” Bobulinski responded.

In October, Gilliar released a statement to the Wall Street Journal, stating, “I am unaware of any involvement at any time of the former Vice President.”

This information comes about a week after Hunter Biden announced that he was under investigation by the Justice Department over his finances. It was later revealed that there was more than one investigation and that law enforcement is also looking into his business dealings.

In October, the New York Post reported on information found on Hunter’s laptop showing that he may have been involved in shady business deals with members of China’s government. It is not yet clear that the elder Biden was actually involved in the activity, but there is evidence that he could have had a hand in the venture.
