‘Everyone can see it, other artists bring it up to me all the time, my family, my friends see it. How bad does it have to get? Leave me alone now, please,’ she said.

Much of the bullying Tones and I has encountered stems from people being sick of listening to Dance Monkey over and over on the radio.

‘[It’s all] for releasing a song I wrote in my wardrobe. I can’t control the radio playing it every day As soon as you release a song it’s out of your hands,’ she added.

The singer made sure to make the point that it was her and not them who has to listen to the song more than anyone.

‘I have to play it for the rest of my life so get over it, stop hating and go be nice to someone you actually do like,’ she said.

The Australian songwriter has chosen to ignore the bullies, and said she has become a stronger person because of it.

It isn’t the first time the Byron Bay native has spoken out about bullying and trolling.

In a Facebook post written in November, Tones and I said she had received death threats, and spoke of ‘hiding in a big black hole’ due to the relentless mockery.
