The U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism’s Division of Festivals is seeking applicants interested in chairing festival committees for St. Thomas and St. John.
Ian Turnbull, director of the new division, confirmed that committee chairs for St. Croix have already been appointed, but he urges residents to send in their resumes for the St. Thomas-St. John vacancies. The application deadline is Monday, Oct. 21.
Committees include Awards, Calypso, Cultural Affairs, Food Fair, Hospital Show, Hospitality, Junior Calypso, Judges, Music, Parade, Prince & Princess Competition, Queen’s Village and Water Sports.
On St. Croix, the appointed chairs include King Derby & Calypso Inc. for the Junior Calypso Competition; Jason Gardener for the Miss St. Croix Pageant; Shanisa Emmanuel for the Prince/Princess Competition; Dean Baptiste for the Calypso Show; Alvin Burke for Soca Monarch; Bradley Christian for the Food Fair; and Kendal Henry and Akeel Phillips for Parades. A committee chair will be soon be announced for the Festival Village.
