WAYNETOWN — Waynetown has released the dates for the town’s 2021 festivals. This year the town is planning five events which includes a second attempt for a street festival to be held in the downtown area.
The inaugural Waynetown Street Festival was scheduled last May, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic organizers canceled the event. This year’s Street Festival is scheduled for May 15. There are nearly 50 vendors already committed to attending the event. Organizers are also planning a food court and music. Anyone interested in having a booth may contact Robin Pirtle at 765-366-2522. Booths are provided at no charge.
The Street Fair title sponsor is the Waynetown Merchants Association.
Festival organizers estimate last year’s four festival combined to attract more than 10,000 visitors to the town.
Other festival for the year include:
• Freedom Festival on June 26
• Fish Fry on Sept. 9-11
• Oktoberfest on Oct. 9
• Christmas in the Park Lighting Ceremony on Dec. 4
As was the case in 2020, Waynetown will work with the Montgomery County Health Department in regards to COVID-19 guidelines to ensure events are held as safely as possible.
