THE Preston Peak Wedding Festival was the perfect place for husbands and wives-to-be to check out the venue and vendors available in the Toowoomba region.
Held at Preston Peak Winery at the weekend, hundreds of people wandered the lawns between cake suppliers, florists, orthodontists, and the bridal wear fashion show.
Preston Peak Winery director Rick Osbourne said the event was a chance for people to get ideas for their wedding whether they had already booked at the venue or not.
“We now average about 150-160 weddings a year,” Mr Osbourne said.
“We do this once a year, and it’s a great way to support local businesses and suppliers, and it really benefits us and helps everybody else put their wedding day together.”
Amos Smith and Cassandra Cooney got engaged on New Year’s Eve and have just started their wedding planning.
“A few friends recommended this place, and there was an open day which was really lucky,” Mr Smith said.
“We just decided to come out and check it out and see what we liked and don’t like.
“It’s pretty cool and it’s good how they’ve set everything up.”
Miss Cooney said she hadn’t chosen a dress, and hoped to check out the fashion show.
